About The Ouseburn
Newcastle’s creative heart, the Ouseburn is so great because it’s genuinely community-driven, full of local gems, and effortlessly blends history with creativity, attracting artists, young professionals, and families.
Once the cradle of the industrial revolution, its cobbled streets and converted warehouses now brim with street art, pubs, restaurants, the Ouseburn Farm and Stepney Bank Stables, craft breweries, live music and independent shops. And while we’re often compared to Shoreditch or Brooklyn, we’ve got our feet on the ground and we’ll settle for just being canny good like!
The Ouseburn is just to the east of Newcastle city centre and is bounded by the river Tyne and Byker, Walker, and Wallsend all with proud industrial pasts. If ever you’ve seen a picture of a terraced street with a huge ship at the end of it, that’ll be Newcastle’s east end! Different scenery now, but as full of character as ever.
